Pour’n Yer Heart Out, the annual community iron pour event, will start at 10 a.m. Feb. 11 at Sector67, 2100 Winnebago St., organizers announced recently.

According to a release, all food, shirts and day-of sand mould profits will be given to Sector67 for its fundraising efforts for a new building.

“The event really took off in popularity when partnering with Sector67 … who helped us bring the community together at their space to be part of the production we run with our iron furnace,” Event Founder Alisa Toninato of FeLion Studios said in a statement. “It feels very fitting that this year, we will help generate fundraising dollars to get them closer to filling their goal for a permanent space.”

The event, now in its eighth year, is free and open to the public, though molds to pour two cast iron hearts cost $30 by Feb. 10, $40 on Feb. 11.

Last year, more than 1,500 pounds of iron was melted down and cast at the event, according to Toninato.
