Seven companies graduated from the recent Discovery to Project (D2P) Igniter accelerator program, the organization announced Tuesday.

Representatives from BrainXell, KIINCE, Xemex, Calimetrix, Holos, Wonder [VR] Studio and BiopsyAssure received guidance from mentors during the program that works around participants’ schedules.

“UW–Madison folks have classes to attend or teach, labs to run and patients to see, so we can’t run the typical six-week, 12-hour-a-day accelerator,” D2P Director John Biondi said in a statement. “Instead, we put them through a structured workshop and then work with them intensely, one-on-one, to do what is needed to mature the project and get it ready for funding.”

As previously reported, the Igniter program funds the commercial development of ideas, with the projects originating from a University of Wisconsin source.
