The new accelerator program from gener8tor, gBETA, is taking applications for its fall session, the organization announced recently.

gBETA is a program designed to support startups and entrepreneurs affiliated with Wisconsin colleges and universities. Applications are due Sept. 28 for the second round of classes that will run from Oct. 6-Dec. 10 in Madison.

“The first class went well,” gener8tor Director Sara Woldt said. “Each company achieved different but attractive traction.”

According to the website, participating companies receive a formal relationship with at least 2-3 mentors with relevant expertise, coaching and mentorship from the gener8tor team, office space in either Madison and Milwaukee and $500,000 in items from vendors like SoftLayer, Rackspace, Amazon, PayPal and Microsoft.

“The format of the next class will not change dramatically,” Woldt said, “but we do plan to build a stronger network of angel investors and organize pitch opportunities for gBETA companies beyond the LiveBETA investor reception.”
