Healthcare Conference Has Startup Component

The Digital Healthcare Conference, held June 10-12 at the Fluno Center, will be hosting a sub-event that brings together entrepreneurs, investors and healthcare CIOs, the conference announced recently.

Eight healthcare startups will each have five-minute elevator pitches during the “Start me Up” Emerging Healthcare Technology Day on Monday. According to a release, an independent advisory board of physicians, investors and healthcare executives selected the companies.

“The biggest challenge faced by early stage Health IT companies is getting in front of decision-makers,” Jonathan Baran, founder and CEO of Healthfinch–one of the startups–said in a statement. “‘Start Me Up’ is a win-win for both startups and decision-makers.”

The other seven are CenterX, Wellbe, Forward Health Group, Elli Health, Catalyze, Clinical Healthcare and SA Ignite.

Speakers at the conference include Judy Faulkner, founder and CEO of Epic, and Dr. Frank Byrne, president of St. Mary’s Hospital.
