Six finalists in the second annual Madison College Challenge will present their business plans in the final segment of the competition, beginning at 12:35 p.m. Friday at the Madison College Truax campus, the college announced.

The Challenge, which is organized by the School of Business and Applied Arts, is designed to provide enhanced educational and experiential learning opportunities for Madison College students. The Phase I Feasibility Analyses were due in March, and the Phase II Business Plans were due last month.

“As lead instructor for the Small Business Entrepreneurship program and as a small business owner myself, I am especially proud of the work that the students have put in to prepare themselves for this competition,” Challenge Administrator and Madison College Instructor Jeffrey Noble said. “We are very excited to showcase their talents and expertise and look forward to a great event on Friday.”

Michele Gillespie; Iana Pugachova; Kevin Daniels; the team of James Masino, Austin Guillen, Evan Dhuey and KC Phillips; Megan Smith; and Jason Friedman are vying for a $5,000 grand prize, plus other prizes.

Representatives from Summit Credit Union, American Family Insurance, MGE and Cleary Building are serving as the judges.
