Madworks Coworking Moves, Announces Program

by Brian Lee

With the goal of providing local entrepreneurs more business resources and opportunities to collaborate, Madworks Coworking and University Research Park announced recently their partnership on a coworking space at the MGE Innovation Center, 510 Charmany Dr.

The space, officially called Madworks Coworking at University Research Park, opened Aug. 27 and is hosting its first program on Sept. 11. University of Wisconsin Professor Jignesh Patel, who sold recently his software company to Twitter, will talk about “Selling Your Big Ideas to Big Companies” beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Room 50.

The event is free, though attendees must pre-register online.

“One of the goals of our coworking space is to be focused on community-building programming,” Greg Hyer, associate director of University Research Park, said. “Our programming is aimed at both entrepreneurs and the general public.”

Access to the coworking space costs $100 per month, and a reserved seat costs $150 per month. Amenities include free parking, wifi, a kitchenette and access to conference rooms. Besides speaking events, Madison Coworking at University Research Park also will host networking, professional development and speed-pitch events.

Madworks Coworking was previously located in Middleton, Wis.
