MobCraft to Build Milwaukee Brewery

by Brian Lee

MobCraft Beer today announced it will build a 30-barrel brewery in Milwaukee, with a tasting room potentially opening by the end of summer and the brewery opening by February 2016.

MobCraft is currently brewing out of House of Brews on the east side. The new brewery will be located at 505 S. Fifth St.

“This is our dream to finally have a facility we can call home,” Co-Founder Giotto Troia said of the lease-to-own building. “It’s a big weight off our back, though we still have a lot of work ahead of us.”

Troia added that the landlord is investing $300,000 in improvements, plus the location will help MobCraft expand into Racine, Kenosha and Chicago suburbs.

“There is a sadness that we’re leaving Madison,” Troia, who was born here, said. “All of us (co-founders) have connections to Madison, and the community is awesome. It’s just that the timeline in Milwaukee was a better fit for us.”

MobCraft also announced it will open an off-site tasting room in Madison, possibly at the yet-to-be-builtĀ StartingBlock Madison, though no date has been set.
