SafteyNet has expanded Renter SafetyNet, its insurance program that focuses on the rental market, to Iowa, the company announced recently.

“Renter SafetyNet solves an unfortunate yet unignorable societal problem–the lack of emergency savings among working people,” SafetyNet Vice President of Product Development Dan Murray said in a statement. “We’re excited to give Iowans greater peace of mind over their financial security by helping them out when they need it most.”

As previously reported, the program gives landlords a lump-sum payment to cover a tenant’s rent after a layoff, illness or injury.
