Startups Have Their Own Fair

by Brian Lee

Area startups like Asthmapolis and EatStreet will join forces for a Madison Startup Fair held from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.

Capital Entrepreneurs, Hybrid Zone X, The Hub and the UW-Madison chapter of CEO are co-hosting the free event, which is aimed at students interested in technology and entrepreneurship.

“A lot of the motivation for organizing the Startup Fair came from past experiences of Capital Entrepreneurs companies needing to make crucial early hires, but not having access to good outlets,” Forrest Woolworth of Capital Entrepreneurs said. “Many startups have limited cash and attending traditional career fairs is quite costly.”

As of Friday, other participating startups include PerBlue, Hardin Design and Development, Murfie, Snowshoe, Vidmaker, gener8tor, Ronin Studios and Consulting, WomStreet, Trinker, WeMontage, MobileIgniter, Quietyme, SpanDeX, AppSolute Innovations, Sector67, Bendyworks, DineInTime, Portable Scores and MoveinMadison.
