UW-Whitewater Students to Pitch in Chicago

by Brian Lee

How can farmers benefit from a quadcopter? Who’s previously sat in your seat at a stadium?

Six UW-Whitewater students will present their business ideas in the CEO National Elevator Pitch Competition Nov. 1–3 in Chicago, the school announced recently.

“It’s extraordinary. Ten percent of all competitors are UW-Whitewater students,” UW-Whitewater Professor William Dougan, who advises the school’s CEO club, said in a release. “It’s indicative of the strong program here that attracts talented entrepreneurs.”

Students like Mitchell Fiene, whose quadcopter hopes to improve crop scouting practices, will pitch to a panel of judges for a chance to win up to $3,500.

Michael Merrill’s GraSeati allows users to upload comments and photos to a stadium seat page, thus creating a history of the seat.

The CEO National website lists all the finalists in a PDF file.
