In similar vein to hack-a-thons and startup weekends, a local organization is hosting a Design-a-Thon for women Feb. 9-10 at HotelRED.

The Doyenne Group, whose mission is to support female entrepreneurs, will provide mentors to help participants build their ideas over a 24-hour period.

Admission to the Design-a-Thon includes meals and costs $50, or $25 for students/Doyenne members. The event includes a reception on Saturday evening and project presentations on Sunday afternoon.

Doyenne Group Co-Founder Heather Wentler also runs Madison Soup, a micro-granting event.
