Maydm has named Dr. Shakkiah M. Curtis its new CEO, the organization recently announced.

According to a LinkedIn post, before joining Maydm, Dr. Curtis founded and served as CEO of The Pink Hustle, worked for the Milwaukee Tech Hub Coalition and led 1915 Studios, an accelerator for early-stage startups.

“To the families, the students, the partners and the Madison community: I am ready,” Dr. Curtis said in a statement. “I am grounded. And I am inviting every single one of you to walk into this next chapter with us. The best of Maydm is still ahead.”

Dr. Curtis holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University and a Master’s from Alverno College.

Maydm Executive Director Dr. Christina Outlay announced in March that she was stepping down.
