Guardian Sarah, a family-connection app for older adults and the families who care for them, has launched.
According to a release, the app’s AI voice, Sarah, calls older adults on their personal phone at a time they choose, up to three times a day. Family members can view a short written summary of what was talked about, a shared list of everyday needs and a collection of life stories.
“The idea started with my grandmother,” Co-Founder Jorge Salgado said in a statement. “When she was in assisted living, I worked full time and kept wishing I knew more about her day, even something as small as whether she wanted a book on my next visit. Guardian Sarah is not a substitute for anyone. It helps a family stay connected, stay involved and support each other between visits.”
The app, founded by Salgado and his father Jorge Bustamante, is available on the App Store and Google Play. Following a 14-day free trial, Guardian Sarah costs $39.99 a month or $399.99 a year.
