Phoenix-Aid, a company that developed a patented nano-composite dressing for chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, won the 2025 Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest, part of the annual Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference held Wednesday and Thursday at the Monona Terrace.
Based in Oshkosh, Wis., the company is undergoing an animal study in the United States and has been approved for human clinical trials in India, targeting diabetic foot ulcers. Ashwinraj Karthikeyan founded Phoenix-Aid in 2014.
The other category winners were Galasys (Advanced Manufacturing), Equability (Business Services) and Strudel (Information Technology). Phoenix-Aid also won the Life Sciences category.
