Company Profile: Green Clock Films

by Brian Lee

It’s a feeling common to entrepreneurs.

Just this month, Justin Yapp joined co-founder Zachary Nigh full time at their venture, Green Clock Films, a full-service video production company that focuses mainly on web-based videos.

“It is the moment when you finally feel like a real business and a sense of pride comes into play,” Justin, who previously worked at WKOW-TV, said.

It all started for Justin when he was a “yound lad,” as he recalls, helping his dad film weddings, school plays and other family videos. That passion has been with him ever since.

The two founders bring to the table different areas of expertise, as Justin focuses on cinematography and post-production, while Zachary serves as the director. Their goal is delivering a quality product to the client, not just collecting a paycheck, according to Justin.

The company name comes from their admiration toward Apple and having a name abstract to what services are provided. In this case, “Green” represents nature and the environment, which they care about, and “Clock” represents getting things done in a timely manner.

A service Green Clock Films offers individuals is the Time Capsule, which takes the greatest moments of an event and condenses it down to 60 seconds accompanied by a music montage. The version for businesses is called Happy Hour, which provides 60 seconds to promote products and services.

Some clients include Woodman’s, J.J. Teppo Floor Coverings and Functional Integrated Training.

“I am very passionate about telling stories, and what better what to tell a story than with video,” Justin said. “I love what I do, and now I am able to make a living doing what I love–it doesn’t get much better than that.”
