Local participants showed off their talents at last week’s worldwide foursquare hackathon, held in Madison at SnowShoe Stamp‘s office, by winning a prize.

The team of Matt Lea and Claus Moberg, both of Snowshoe, developed TeamTurfWar.com, netting them a jury award of a flying inflatable shark. Approximately 20 people attended the event overall.

“The hackathon threw skilled and motivated people into a time-pressured room and forced them to collaborate and create, which they obviously did,” Michael Fenchel, hoos.in founder and co-host of the local event, said.

According to foursquare, 200 people participated worldwide. Gym Shamer, which tracks your check-ins at the gym and tells your social network if you’ve been skipping out, won the grand prize of a foursquare title belt and a video date with foursquare CEO Dennis Crowley.
