SOLOMO Wins Madison’s Rise of the Rest

In a pitch battle between nine different area startups, SOLOMO Technology was victorious in the Rise of the Rest competition held Monday evening at the Majestic Theatre.

Included in the winnings were a $100,000 investment from AOL co-founder and investor Steve Case and a trip to the 2015 SXSW Startup Village, where SOLOMO will compete for more funding.

Liz Eversoll founded SOLOMO in 2011. It provides “the first smart location platform for marketers,” according to the company’s website.

Case, who also serves as chairman and CEO Revolution; Tige Savage, co-founder of Revolution Ventures; Al Toon, former NFL wide receiver and UW football player; Laurie Benson, CEO of LSB Unlimited; and Becky Splitt, CEO of StudyBlue, served as judges.

Other startups in the competition were WholeTrees Structures, Stemina Biomarker Discovery, Project Foundry, CODAworx, Fishidy, Murfie, Beekeeper Data and MobCraft Beer.
