In gearing up to break ground this winter, StartingBlock Madison launched a crowdfunding campaign called BuildingBlocks to help with the final funding gap, organizers announced today.

“With the BuildingBlocks campaign, Madison-area community members can show their support for this exciting community project proposed for the Capitol East Corridor,” StartingBlock Executive Director Scott Resnick said. “It will take a grassroots effort, both in support and capital, to make our project a reality.”

Virtual “blocks” of the building start at $25 and are displayed with the donor’s name or logo on the StartingBlock website. Rewards include a T-shirt (six blocks) and two tickets to a donors’ reception (50 blocks).

“The campaign is already off to a great start,” Resnick said.

As previously reported, StartingBlock will be the home of Madison-based startups with flexible office and coworking space, accelerator support, peer and mentoring resources, education and training and community building activities.
