Twenty-nine companies and nonprofit organizations have been named the finalists for the 2021 Wisconsin Innovation Awards, organizers announced recently.

According to a release, the finalists were selected by a panel of 27 statewide industry experts from more than 300 nominations.

The companies from the greater Madison area are:

• Badger Shield (Madison)
• Black Oxygen (Madison)
• Curate (Madison)
• Curbside Bicycles (Fitchburg)
• DataChat (Madison)
• EnsoData (Madison)
• Our MAP (Madison)
• StableBody Technologies (Middleton)
• Understory (Madison)
• Voximetry Incorporated (Middleton)

The winners will be named Oct. 5 at an in-person awards ceremony at the Memorial Union.
