Exact Sciences is continuing its success in gaining backing from major organizations, as Aetna Medicare Advantage can be added to the list, the company announced Wednesday.

According to a release, Cologuard will be available to 967,000 Aetna members nationwide beginning April 1, the start of a three-year agreement between the companies.

“We look forward to working with Aetna to provide their members with a new option for colon cancer screening,” Exact Sciences CEO and Chairman Kevin Conroy said in a statement. “Colon cancer is most treatable when caught early, underscoring the importance of routine screening.”

Cologuard is the first and only FDA approved noninvasive stool DNA screening test for colorectal cancer. Previously, Exact Sciences announced relationships with the Mayo Clinic and Group Health Cooperative.
