BioForward Wisconsin CEO Lisa Johnson is set to retire at the end of 2026, the organization announced recently.

Johnson has been the CEO for the past 11 years and played a role in strengthening Wisconsin’s biohealth ecosystem. She helped expand BioForward’s advocacy efforts, grew its membership, advanced strategic initiatives and helped secure investments supporting innovation, workforce development and industry expansion.

“I am not sure where my next journey in life will take me but as I reflect back on my 37 year career in Wisconsin’s biohealth industry, from entrepreneurial experience to international business development to then supporting this industry through BioForward these last 11 years, I am proud to have experienced and witnessed the profound impact of Wisconsin’s biohealth industry,” Johnson said in a statement. “I have been privileged to work with amazing team members throughout my career, and I leave BioForward at year’s end knowing it will continue to deliver major value and support to Wisconsin’s biohealth industry.”

BioForward has begun a search, with the new CEO expected to be named this fall.
