Chefs For Seniors was accepted into the 17th class of 500 Startups, an accelerator program located in Mountain View, Calif., the company recently announced.

“For me personally, this will be a great learning experience,” Chefs For Seniors COO and Co-Founder Nathan Allman said. “In the last three weeks of being here, I’ve learned more about marketing and growth than I did during my four years in business school.”

Allman and CEO Kate Toews are participating in the program, which began May 2 and concludes in August. More than 40 startups comprise the current class.

According to a release, 500 Startups invested $125,000 into Chefs For Seniors to help the company expand. The program has invested in more than 1,500 startups since 2011.

As previously reported, Chefs For Seniors provides in-home chefs to seniors and has served more than 50,000 meals in Madison, Chicago and Boca Raton, Fla.
