Cultured Decadence Wins Pressure Chamber

by Brian Lee

Cultured Decadence won the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce’s annual Pressure Chamber pitch contest held online Friday and earned an all-expenses-paid trip to meet potential investors in Silicon Valley, if feasible.

The Madison, Wis.,-based company makes lobster and crab meat using cell culture and tissue engineering techniques. John Pattison and Ian Johnson founded the company in January.

Pyran, RehabPath and Talent Bandit were the other contestants, while Last Lock was unable to participate. Three judges represented half the voting weight, and the other half came from the online audience.

American Provenance won last year’s contest. The event is part of Forward Festival, which continues through Thursday.
