by Taylor Kennedy

The MidWest Energy Research Consortium (M-WERC) is accepting applications through May 29 for its business startup initiative, WERCBench Labs. The Milwaukee-based program encourages engineers, scientists and programmers in various funding stages to apply.

According to a release, 10-15 teams will be selected to receive hands-on help from a large pool of mentors. The three-month immersive program begins June 8 and ends Aug. 27, with the final day consisting of teams pitching their products to an audience, including potential investors.

A few of the Madison-based mentors include John Biondi, Director of D2P, and Dr. Mike Corradini, Chair of the UW-Madison Energy Institute.

M-WERC helps bring world-leading companies, technical colleges and universities together in the spirit of making things.
