Governor’s Biz Plan Contest Accepting Entries

by Brian Lee

Are you sitting on a $100,000 idea?

The cash award, plus assistance in developing the idea into a reality, is part of the annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest, which is accepting entries between Dec. 6 and Jan. 31, 2013.

According to the Wisconsin Technology Council, the contest is “designed to help entrepreneurs turn their ideas into business plans, to prepare them to launch a company, to get feedback from mentors and to interact with investors and other professionals.”

Contest categories are Advanced Manufacturing, Business Services, Information Technology and Life Sciences. Judges come from various backgrounds, including marketing and technology.

Last year’s winner was Rowheels, which allows people in wheelchairs to pull levers to move a wheelchair.

More information about entering the contest can be found on the Governor’s Business Plan Contest website.
