InvivoSciences, Hamamatsu to Collaborate

InvivoSciences and New Jersey-based Hamamatsu today announced a joint collaboration that ultimately may help accelerate preclinical drug discovery in regenerative medicine.

According to a release, technology developed by Hamamatsu will be used to analyze the effects of pharmaceuticals on micro-engineered heart tissues that InvivoSciences mass-produces.

“We are especially proud and pleased to establish a long-term … strategic partnership with the global-leader in (the) photonics industry and contribute (to) their growth in healthcare business,” InvivoSciences Co-Founder and CEO Ayla Annac said in a statement. “The combination of technologies and know-how of (the) companies will help accelerate product development in regenerative medicine while expanding the global commercial opportunities,”
