Maydm

In 2018, Maydm, which provides girls and youth of color in grades 6-12 with skill-based training for the technology sector, hosted its first program in Milwaukee and established new partners and sponsors, among other milestones the organization recapped recently.

The Milwaukee program, “Adventures in Programming,” let students engage with local technology companies and institutions of higher education. Over the course of two weeks, students used HTML, CSS and
JavaScript to build their own websites.

In the fall, Maydm held its Miss Ambitious Career and Coding Initiative (MACCI) and Ambitious Career and Coding Initiative (ACCI) programs. Afterward, 83 percent of the students reported they either liked or loved STEM.

Last year, Maydm brought in $281,270 in revenue, 83 percent of which came from contributions. That compares to the $146,537 revenue figure the organization had in 2017.
