In 2018, early stage companies in Wisconsin raised more than $280 million, which is a record for any one year in the state, according to a report by the Wisconsin Technology Council.

“We are seeing continued growth in investors and deal sizes,” Wisconsin Technology Council President Tom Still said in a statement. “New funds continue to come online, and more capital is available for our growing and maturing startups. However, much more work must be done for Wisconsin to meet its full potential.”

According to a release, the $280 million came from 121 deals, with the largest deals coming from SHINE Medical Technologies ($24.8 million) and Propeller Health ($20 million).

Although the dollars raised set a record, the total number of deals decreased slightly–down from 127 in 2017.
