Bonnie Bachman has been named the inaugural director of the newly formed Technology Entrepreneurship Office (TEO) at the University of Wisconsin, the organization announced recently.

“I am excited to bring my experience and knowledge to the University of Wisconsin-Madison to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem,” Bachman said in a statement. “The volume and breadth of UW-Madison’s research enterprise drives its reputation as a world-class institution.”

According to a release, Bachman will lead the implementation of entrepreneur/executive-in-residence programs to form new businesses and explore new solutions for common problems.

Prior to the new role, Bachman was an economics professor with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.

A graduate of Benedictine University, Bachman started her role earlier this month.

The Technology Entrepreneurship Office (TEO) was formed to increase the speed and frequency at which UW research is translated into usable technology.
