WomStreet to Move to L.A.

WomStreet, a competitive social media hub based in Madison, is moving to Los Angeles this summer.

The online company, founded in April 2012, allows anyone to create personal, competitive contests that create brand and event awareness. Prizes include opportunities to open for famous bands, publish photography in a newspaper and attend concerts for free.

Taylor Horsager, co-founder and vice president of sales and marketing, said WomStreet will expand to more entertainment-based industries. WomStreet has had a lot of success with electronic music, but Horsager said its technology has plenty to offer in the film, fashion, news and extreme sports industries.

“Los Angeles seems to be the most fitting city to execute our vision,” Horsager said. “Good business development, particularly in this space, takes a certain level of personal interaction.”

WomStreet has already begun working with clients in L.A. such as Creative Artists Agency and Red Light Management.

“Once in L.A., we will immediately begin forming business partnerships with selective partners in the music space and hire additional team members to accelerate product development,” Horsager said.

Two product developers and two members of the business development department plan to arrive in L.A. between late June and mid-July when they will begin working in a home-office space or a co-op work space in Santa Monica.
