Xylome, WARF Ink Deal

by Brian Lee

Xylome announced today its licensing and equity agreements with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF).

According to a release, WARF will help Xylome develop and market unconventional yeasts that can transform biomass into sustainable fuels and chemicals.

“The new technologies have already proven their worth in laboratory and pilot trials,” Xylome President Thomas Jeffries said in a statement. “Combined with our proprietary platform strains and deep knowledge of the field, we’ve built a solid foundation for commercial success.”

Xylome expects to conduct commercial trials, production and ongoing development for target markets in the United States and abroad, Jeffries said.
